PFC Herbert A. Littleton - Medal of Honor Recipient

PFC Herbert A. Littleton was honored this morning at his birthplace, Mena, AR. I drove up for the ceremony and I found it surprisingly moving. PFC Littleton was a Marine and the local chapter of the Marine Corp League was the sponsor and host. Without taking up too much space here he was awarded the Medal of Honor for falling on a grenade thereby saving the lives of his fellow Marines and losing his life during the Korean War. Several dignitaries and members of the Littleton family spoke and all did a good job. After the ceremony we went over to the Courthouse to unveil the memorial.

It seemed almost personal to me. My dad joined the Marines when he was 17 and fought in the Korean War. I kept thinking how much he would have liked to have been there. Dad would have enjoyed hearing Brigadier General Timothy C. Hanifen from Quantico, Virgina speak.
It seems a good time for me to say thank God for our veterans and our soldiers and to urge you to continue to pray for our President, our Leaders and for our great country.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
