Winter Weather and Visitors

This morning I woke up thankful that the wintry precipitation did not occur where my family members live. I have said a prayer for those who did receive the wintry weather. In so many ways it seems like the ice storm of 2000 was just yesterday and I recall the many hardships and inconveniences it caused.

Last night, a brave crew of three friends braved the weather to drive from Mena, Polk County, to attend the Western Arkansas Legislative Gala. Bill Beam, Nate Bell and James Earl Turner and I had a good visit and had an opportunity to discuss several issues. Among them were I-49 and the Governor's tobacco tax. I forgot my camera so we don't have a picture.

The picture below is Celeste Spiers-Sorrells, she is the County Administrator for the Pike County Arkansas Department of Human Services. She was at the Capitol today visiting with the State Employees Association.

If you come to Little Rock I hope that you have the opportunity to stop by and visit. I really am glad to visit with you.
