I am not much of a fan of icy weather. Snow is alright but I don't like ice. I recall in the ice storm of 2000 that our house did not have electricity for 10 days.
Last night was cold and wet and every time I got out of the truck for very long my windows iced up. I had great concern about the morning roads. Based on conversations with people who drove in this morning it appears that the roads were not bad and reports from Nashville sound good.
As a parent - I worry constantly about my children, both of whom are fine young people that I love very very much. When I hung up the phone last night after having called both of them and having admonishing them to be careful, drive smart, don't take chances...... I remembered how I hated for my Mom and Dad to call and give me that talk; how I knew that I did not need to be told that (Mom still calls).
As of this post they are both where they need to be and safe. I am very thankful but I will continue to pray for them to be smart as the day progresses. I hope that you have gotten to where you need to be and that you are safe and remain so.
