Dierks Chamber's Christmas Parade

I love Christmas - everything about it. Tonight's parade in Dierks was great fun. There were a lot of floats, I was in the rear but I saw several churches with floats. The floats were covered in Christmas lights and decorations with youth riding on them throwing candy.

One of the lessons I have learned in the last couple of years is to throw a lot of candy but to be sure to save enough to the end. Sometime the candy is all thrown at the beginning and those little ones at the end do not get enough. Tonight my candy held out just about right. For the last small group of young ones I had to dip into the bag I was eating out of but I was happy to do so.

I love the way our communities, Dierks and Glenwood in particular, turn out for their parades. People everywhere. That is one of the beauties of living in rural Arkansas.

Merry Christmas!
