Senator Hill Roast & UACCH Fundraiser

I hope that yesterday was a good day for my friend Senator Hill. It began at 3:00 at a short ceremony at UACCH. Governor Beebe and other dignitaries made short speeches and then Ned Ray Purtle of the UACCH Board of Visitors announced that Jim had been appointed to the college's Board of Visitors effective January first.

Last night at the gym in Historic Washington we had a "Toast & Roast" for Jim. There was a great crowd of more than 150 people there. The gym was beautifully decorated - the flowers were just beautiful. Our friends at the Trails End Cafe catered the event and the food was good and plentiful.

Chancellor Chris Thomason, Congressman Mike Ross, Woody Futrell, Paul Berry and I each had an opportunity to take a shot at Jim. At the end of the program the Governor had taped a short "commentary" about Jim.
Over $20,000 was raised for the UACCH Foundation, a good cause, my friend Jim Hill received some of the recognition that he deserved and a good meal and evenings entertainment was had by all - a successful event. I am very appreciative of the many Senators and Representatives that took time to come to help us honor Jim. I also very much appreciate the many sponsors who donated to the cause and came to the event. THANKS! Also, THANKS to the many student and staff volunteers and to Brent Talley and Chris for their hard work.
