Don Worthy Auctioning at the Crossroads Vol. Fire Dept.
Yesterday became fairly busy after lunch. My great aunt and uncle, Helen & Coleman McRae from DeQueen, celebrated their 70th anniversary yesterday. The celebration was held at the Church of Christ in DeQueen. They had lots of friends drop by and they were surrounded by lots of their/our family. Aunt Helen is my grandmother's sister on my mom's side. Senator Jim Hill had provided a Senate Citation honoring the event.
The Lodi volunteer fire department and the Crossroads (Hempstead County) fire department each had a fundraiser going. I left DeQueen and headed to Lodi. I visited there for about 45 minutes, left a check to buy a pie or two and then I headed on down to Crossroads. It took just over an hour to make the drive from Lodi to Crossroads. I spent some money there. I bought some homemade pickles there that I hope to sample at lunch today. I made it back to Nashville around 8:40 - it was not too late of an evening. I enjoy the fire department functions. They are always well supported and there are lots of people for me to meet and visit with.
