UACCH hosted todays Chamber Coffee at the college to honor their new Chancellor, Chris Thomason. The community always supports UACCH in a big way and the coffee was no exception.From the coffee we went across to the library for the dedication of a sculpture, "Life Column", donated as a memorial to Joe & Fay Shaw by their families; Michael and Deborah Malek of Hope, Robb and Jeannie Miller of Annapolis, Jerome and Saron Malek of San Antonio, and Jennifer and Chris Albany of Malvern, PA. Don Shaw is the artist that was commissioned by the family to creat the sculpture.
The stones the images are carved on are naturally formed stones deposited by the glaciers many thousands of years ago and deposited in the high desserts of New Mexico.
The more art we have in our lives the more enriched we are. I appreciate the family of the Shaw's committment to the arts and to UACCH.
