After arriving back in Nashville from the Watermelon Festival I ran home for a little while. Then... I came back to town to visit with the crew at the Pleasant Valley Masonic Lodge as they prepared for their fish fry. I stayed long enough to sample some fish and hush puppies. My mother and her friends went and ate later and said that there was a good crowd.
I headed off up to Umpire for a fundraiser for Konner May. There was an extremely large crowd, every seat in the fire department was filled with a lot of folks standing around the walls and outside (it was cooler outside). They had a smoked chicken meal and some good desserts. Nick Fowler from Glenwood volunteered his time as auctioneer.
I don't know how much money was raised but I imagine that it was a goodly amount. I know I say it every time but we are blessed to live here where people are so generous of their time and money.
