I just arrived back in Nashville after a trip to Lake Degray Lodge for a meeting hosted by the DeQueen-Mena Educational Co Op for school administrators and personnel. The new director of the Co Op is my good friend John Ponder- I believe today was his first official day. Good Luck John!
I was invited to attend and participate in the legislative part of the program. Turned out that I was the only legislator (or almost legislator) to show up. I thought that we had a good discussion though my knowledge level on current education issues is not yet up to speed. I enjoy visiting with the superintendents, administrators and school personnel- I always learn something from them.
After the meeting we headed over to one of the pavilions on the lake for some fried catfish and all the fixins. The food was good but it was pretty hot out there in the sun. I rode to DeGray with my friend Larry Hale and enjoyed visiting with him.
