Black Community Development & Historical Society Parade

At 1:00 p.m. today in Hope we participated in the Black Community Development and Historical Society's parade. The parade was led by Sheriff Crain and the Grand Marshal was Congressman Mike Ross. I followed Congressman Ross in the lineup. There were probably 15 or 20 participants (floats) in the parade. Several politicians, including Judge Culpepper and his wife Debra and State Representative David "Bubba" Powers, some churches and some individuals. My friend Vince drove my vehicle and two young friends set in the back of the truck with me as we waved and threw candy to everyone. It was great fun and I made a lot of new friends. The purpose of the parade was celebrating Black History Month.
