Home for the Weekend and Holiday

I was glad to get home this afternoon. Thankfully the drive did not take as long coming home as it did driving up Sunday. There was a small delay as the traffic went to one lane while they worked to get an 18 wheeler out of the trees.

It was a relatively uneventful week. We managed to get the pomp and ceremonies out of the way and should now be positioned to begin to do business. We did have a Revenue and Tax meeting Wednesday morning. We had arranged to have the Department of Finance in to give us an overview of our tax structure and how impact statements are created by the department. Next Wednesday we will meet again and hear about revenue reports, annual forecasts and some of the tools available as reference to us. I learned a lot Wednesday and look forward to the next meeting.

I am speaking tomorrow at the Senior Center at a Martin Luther King, Jr ceremony but the rest of the weekend appears to be pretty low key. I will keep you up to date.
