My friends at the Board Camp Volunteer Fire Department called last week and told me that they were having an Ice Cream Social last night. If you read my blog much you already know how much I like to eat and how much I like to go out and "politic" visiting with my friends and constituents. Homemade ice cream is just about my favorite treat of all times and I indulged heavily. I had a large bowl with a large scoop of vanilla and a large scoop of chocolate - really very good. I wish that I had been able to sample some of the other flavors but I just could not find the room. The Board Camp Fire Department has come a long way since I began traveling up there last year. Their new station is very nice and they just had their heating/air conditioner installed and working. They also had a new truck that they were able to get through the Arkansas Forestry Department.
I really appreciated their calling me to let me know. I don't always see events in the papers and I hate to miss an opportunity to get out and visit.
