2009 Dierks Pine Tree Festival

Today is the Dierks Chamber of Commerce's annual Pine Tree Festival. It is one of the longest continuously running festivals in the state. Traditionally it is an extremely hot, dry day. With this mornings rain and thunderstorms the Pine Tree Festival is starting out a little different. The parade was rained out or at least delayed. I was going to ride in the parade and judge.

There will still be a lot to do even with the rain and the concert tonight should make for a very good evening of entertainment. I am headed over that way now to judge BBQ. The BBQ Cook Off contestants have been up all night cooking (in the rain). I always enjoy judging (eating) BBQ contests. I have posted the schedule below. Come on over if you are in southwest Arkansas today.
