Sr Day in Sevier County / Sat Mena Eagles & Langley VFD

Friday found me in DeQueen at the Sevier County Courthouse as they celebrated Senior Citizens Day. I have been attending the Senior Day in Sevier County since I first ran for Representative in 1996. They always have a good crowd and Friday was no exception. The weather was good and so was the food.

Today, after my bicycle ride, I headed to Mena to where the Eagle's club was having a fundraiser for those who suffered loss during the tornado. I judged the car show and the bike show and I was happy to award my picks the "Senators Pick of Show" trophy.

I stayed there a while and then headed toward Langley where the Langley Volunteer Fire Department was having their annual Memorial Day Hamburger. I had a little time so I drove slowly through Vandervoort, it was a beautiful drive, I had forgotten how pretty it is through there. At the fire department I had a hamburger and a hot dog. The men had cooked the burgers and the ladies the hot dogs and I did not want to risk insulting either group.
