This morning I drove over to Camden and met my good friend Senator Gene Jeffress at the Fairview United Methodist Church. Gene serves as the Music Minister there at the church. Pastor Mike Wilkie and I met at the Capitol during the session and he had asked me to come fill his pulpit while he was out of town this weekend. I was delighted to go. I have not spent much time over that way and I enjoyed the drive both going and coming. I went East through Hope and came home through Prescott. (With OnStar Directions in my truck it was easy to find my way.)
The congregation was very nice to me and Gene took care of everything including his beautiful wife and he taking me to eat at a catfish buffet after. Between Gene and I we managed to finish up a little early. Thanks to everyone involved.
