Sunday Morning Before Sunday School

I stopped by the office this morning to take care of a couple of things I had not finished, answered a few emails, read a couple of bills that I needed to look at and then I decided to blog.

After working in the insurance agency Friday that evening I took Debbie, Mother-in-Law, future Daughter-in-Law, Grandmother, and Aunt Judy to eat fried catfish. It was a good evenings outing and I think we all enjoyed the food and the company.

Saturday in southwest Arkansas was a great day. I think that the high was around 69 degrees and the sun shone brightly all day long. I wound up doing more work around the house than I normally do simply because it was so nice to be outside. I moved firewood up to the back porch and filled the inside wood box for Debbie. I can hardly believe how much wood she managed to burn last week. Deb had been wanting the dog pen moved closer to the house so I moved it - turned out to be more of a project than I really wanted. I did work a bicycle ride in about 2:00. A long sleeve shirt and biking shorts were just about right for the temperature. The 16 miles were a good reminder of how out of shape I have become. If it warms quickly today I may try for another ride. It sure felt good and it is the best stress reliever I have.

It seemed to me that last week we (the Legislature) began to pick up speed. Animal cruelty is now illegal or will be after the Governor signs it Wednesday. The Governor's tobacco program is filed, at least partially and debate should begin on it. I believe it is starting in the House. I will enjoy listening to the discussion on it. I sure hope Senator Hendren runs his motorcycle helmet bill this week. I would love to get it put to bed. I better stop now and go to Sunday School.
