More Visitors at the Capitol

I had two state employees stop by today. Connie Hendrix (left) works for Workforce Services and Marilyn Winger (right)works for Child Support. I enjoyed visiting with them.

Please support HB90. You seem very focused on bringing funds to your own district by the number of Acts you have proposed. There is a bigger picture that is being missed. An appropriation of 15,000 for one year will not ensure that the domestic violence and rape programs will continue to be able to operate, but by passing HB90, which will infuse $60,000 into every domestic violence shelter in the state, it will greatly improve the ability for ALL current programs to continue providing services to victims of domestic violence. This morning, I have called and left a message for Sandra Renfro to inquire what her stance is on the legislation and if she has indeed asked for your support on HB90. As a member of the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence, she is held to the Principles of Unity outlined in the ACADV bylaws. By funds being requested to go only to that program's area (your area as well), it casts a shadow of doubt in my mind as to if there is indeed a conflict of interest between the to two pieces of legislature and your vote. I am asking that you re-examine your vote and help the families of the entire state of Arkansas recieve services.
