Last night my friends at the Mena/Polk County Chamber of Commerce hosted their Chamber of Commerce Banquet. It was held at the Old Armory which is a really neat building that has been restored. The speaker at the event was Dr. Otto Loewer from the U of A Economic Development Institute. He spoke on communities and regions needing to work together on their economic development projects. I think that he is exactly right. I forgot my camera again so I don't have any pictures to post.
I did have the opportunity to visit with a lot of people I met during the campaign and to make some new friends. I always enjoy visiting and hearing the thoughts of people in my district. Congratulations to everyone who received certificates for their volunteer service and to everyone who won an award or recognition. I do believe that we each owe service to our communities.
