Black History Parade in Hope

Today I had the honor of being a co-Grand Marshall for the Black History Parade in Hope. I don't recall ever being a Grand Marshall for a parade before. This is my second time to be in the Black History month parade. Last year during the campaign I had the opportunity to ride in the parade. My friend Vincent Wesley was the parade's organizer today. There was much more participation in the parade this year - a lot of vehicles and two sets of drum corps for the music. Vince did a good job in getting people to participate. The picture is my co-Grand Marshall, Gloria Hicks, and me in our official car. It will be no surprise to my frequent readers to know that when I first arrived I headed down the line to shake hands and visit with the parade's participants. As I made my way back toward the start someone said they were looking for me and somebody else told them he is out shaking hands. I do enjoy talking to people.
