Senator Jim Hill
As my good friend Senator Jim Hill winds down his 16 years of legislative service, 4 years in the House of Representatives and 12 years as State Senator, I believe it to be right and appropriate that I honor him here.

In 1996 when I ran and was elected State Representative Jim was the sitting Representative and was running for the Senate seat being vacated by Senator Cassady. Fortunately, we both won our elections and I served my six years as Representative with him as my Senator. He has been a good and loyal friend and I have learned much from him. His easy smile and good humor will be missed at the Capitol.

He has served admirably and with honor representing not just his Senate District but the entire state. I continue to hope that the Governor will not want to lose the "institutional" knowledge that Jim has and will find him a position where he can continue to contribute to the citizens of Arkansas.

It will be interesting to watch and see if Charlotte can put up with Jim being underfoot on a daily basis. Thank you Jim for your service to our great state and thanks for your friendship.
