UACCH Foundation Announces the Senator Jim and Charlotte Hill Public Service Endowed Scholarship

HOPE, AR – The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope is proud to announce that the UACCH Foundation has just established the Senator Jim and Charlotte Hill Public Service Endowed Scholarship. This announcement came during Senator Hill’s first official meeting as a member of the UACCH Board of Visitors and Foundation Board.

Senator Hill, who has served Hempstead, Howard, Pike, Sevier, and Polk counties as State Senator, has been an advocate for UACCH and Hempstead County throughout his career in public service. Senator Hill’s Legacy of Leadership tribute held in September on the UACCH Campus brought guest from across the state to the campus to pay tribute to Hill for his years of service. The UACCH Foundation held a Roast and Toast that evening in Hill’s honor. The Roast and Toast along with recent donations from Hill’s friends, raised the $10,000 to establish this endowed scholarship.

Along Senator Hill’s side has been supporter and wife, Charlotte. Charlotte has spent a career in the classroom of the Nashville Public Schools encouraging students to study hard and excel in life. She has also served on many organizations and helped on countless church and community events. These two have made a team that others can only strive to mirror.

The endowed scholarship will assist UACCH students in pursuing a higher education for many years. In horror of Hill’s commitment to public service, the scholarship will have a significant public service component. This requirement will hopeful assist students in exploring ways to give back to their community the way Jim and Charlotte have done so humbly.
