Today was a good day. At noon today we were sworn into office by Justice Jim Hannah. Deb, Lil Larry and Tana, Mom, Mother-in-Law, Aunt Annie and Uncle Hootie, Donna, my friends Kirk and Connie and their daughter Emily and my friend Jean came to support me today. We were able to get them all onto the floor of the Senate for the ceremony.
My friend Bubba Powers was named vice-chairman of the Aging, Children and Youth Committee. Way to go Bubba - good for you. In addition my Polk County friend Bill Abernathy was named Chairman of the Education committee, this is his second time to chair education - good for you Bill.
We convene at 10:00 in the morning and then will go at 10:30 down to the House to listen to Governor Beebe give the State of the State address. I will be interested to hear his thoughts as we begin to work.
