Appointed to Arkansas Legislative Coucil

President Pro Tempore Bob Johnson has appointed me to the Arkansas Legislative Council. I am very excited and appreciative of Bob appointing me to the Council. I served on the Council my last two terms in the House of Representatives. An oversimplification of the duties of the Council might be to say that the Legislative Council performs the legislative functions needed during the interim; i.e. personnel matters, rules and regs, contract reviews, etc. President Pro Tempore Johnson was the Speaker of the House my second term (82nd General Assembly, 1999-2000) and is my friend. I look forward to working with him during the coming years.

A news release was sent out last week by the Senate's Information Officer on the appointment and ran in most of the newspapers and radio stations in Senate District 20.

There is just a week before the session begins. If you have any matters that we need to discuss before the 87 General Assembly convenes time is running out. I do want to hear from you.
