Revenue & Tax Committee at the Capitol

The House and Senate Revenue and Tax Committees were meeting this afternoon at the Capitol. One of my committee assignments in the coming session is to serve on the Revenue and Tax Committee. I was very happy to be able to serve there - during my time in the House I was on it and wound up chairing it my last term. In my opinion, the legislators who serve on the Revenue and Tax Committee normally work very hard during the sessions.

I was especially glad that I attended today's meeting. The Senate committee honored my good friend Senator Jim Hill who has chaired the Senate Revenue and Tax Committee for several years. I think that they caught him by surprise. It was a nice gesture on the committee's part and I appreciate them honoring him. He certainly deserves the recognition. Jim has been my good friend for a long time and his friendship and advice and support are important to me.
