I should have run this earlier in the week.
The Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation working with the Howard County Christian Health Clinic is hosting a free prostate screening event today from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The screenings will be conducted at the Health Clinic's office at 121 West Sypert Street here in Nashville.
A man has a one in six chance of developing prostate cancer during his lifetime. Some men have an even greater risk, including men 50 and older, African-American men 40 and older, and men 40 and older who have a family history of prostate cancer. You can find out more information about prostate cancer at the Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation's website, www.arprostatecancer.org or by calling 1-800-338-1383.
I had mine checked last year when the Prostate Foundation was in town and I am about to head that way to get it done again. It does not take long and it is a good health safety precaution.
