Yesterday was fairly busy. I drove to Arkadelphia for lunch at an area meeting of the Association of Counties. It was conducted so that the county officials could meet with some of their legislators. The meeting was held at Henderson, it is a great campus. My daughter, Shelly, attends there. It did take me a long time to find a parking spot and I did have to walk a long way but no problem. The meeting did not last very long and everyone seemed to get something out of it. I had county officials from all five of my counties in attendance, Hempstead, Howard, Pike, Polk & Sevier. I made it back to my office by about 1:40.
When the office closed at 5:00 I left Nashville headed for Mena. My friends at the Polk County Democratic Women were having a meeting. I had promised to come back after the election and not filled that promise yet so it seemed like a good opportunity to do so. Representative Abernathy was the program and I wanted to hear what he had to say. About 25 people were in attendance, a good crowd. I made it home just before 10:00. Gordon Lightfoot was on a fundraising special on AETN so I watched Gordon for a while before turning the light out.
