After work I drove up to Mena to the Polk County Fairgrounds for the Polk County Cattlemen's Association meeting. There was a good crowd and I enjoyed visiting with them. I had attended at least one meeting during the campaign so I had met most of them. The food was good, roast, gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans and biscuits.
Turned out that they were going to have an auction of pies and desserts to raise money for the premium sale at the fair. I helped with the auction and bought some fried pies and some scones. Both were real good - I shared them with the crowd. I have learned if I bring that stuff home I just eat all of it.
It was a fun evening, I managed to get back home by about 10:30.
