Reid fundraiser at Kirby School

Once again, a community gathered to help someone in need. Last night the Lodi community hosted a fundraiser at the Kirby School Cafeteria for Reid family. Their house has burned. There were people from all over the area gathered to help raise money. I estimated that there were more than 100 people in attendance and a whole lot of people came by and left some money and took their food home.

My friend Pep Glenn (Democratic nominee for Pike County Sheriff) & Rodney cooked the meat. I had pork, it was cooked just right, they also had chicken. I think they said they had started cooking at 6 a.m. yesterday. There were numerous other volunteers working the auction, the serving line, cleaning up, etc.

Neighbors helping neighbors - that is us at our best.

This weeks looks a little busier. Hopefully I will have more to "blog". Have a good week and stay out of the heat as much as you can.
