Congressman Gephardt at the Clean Coal Banquet

Former Congressman Richard Gephardt was the featured speaker at the Clean Coal Technology Conference Banquet last night. The banquet was held at the Fairpark Coliseum and there was a pretty good crowd in attendance.

I enjoyed visiting with all my friends from the District (mostly the Hope area). There were several Legislagtors in attendance and I enjoyed meeting and visiting with them.

Congressman Gephardt's message was that we do have an energy crisis and that we must start right now if we are going to overcome the crisis. He said approximately $700 Billion leaves our country every year in the form of energy purchases.

As I have listened to facts about our energy needs it is a cause for great concern and a subject I am determined to learn more about.
