Hope-Hempstead County Chamber Banquet

Yesterday I spent quite a bit of time in Hope. Beginning with dropping in on the retired teachers at their meeting, then lunch with the Lions Club. I came back to Nashville picked up Debbie and we returned to Hope for the Chamber of Commerce Banquet. It was at the Coliseum, a good crowd and good food, but mostly good company. Debbie and I really enjoyed meeting a lot of new friends last night. The Educator of the Year Award went to Michael Malek. Michael is involved with several choirs and teaches at UACCH. The UACCH Ladies Chorus sang last night at the banquet. They are very good. My friend Tillman Ross received the Citizen of the Year. Tillman has been very active in Veteran's affairs and at the American Legion. It was a good evening, we were out by 8:30.
