I had the opportunity to attend the National Association of Insurance Commissioners meeting this week in Washington, DC (actually National Harbor, Maryland). I was not sure what to expect since I had never been to one of those meetings. I did appreciate Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Jay Bradford inviting me. He is my good friend and I enjoyed spending some time with him and House Insurance and Commerce Committee Chairman Eddie Hawkins who also attended the meeting. There are some insurance issues that I was unaware of that need attention. It did make me decide that I would get more involved in some of the national legislative groups dealing with insurance.

Tuesday night we attended the Washington Nationals versus the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game in the Nationals ballpark. It is an incredible facility and I had great seats - about six rows back behind home plate. I enjoyed the game. The Dodgers just wore poor Washington out. Even though I am dieting I enjoyed a hot dog and a bag of Cracker Jacks while at the game - just seemed like the right thing to do.

There is nothing like coming home to Arkansas and I was happy when we touched down in Little Rock. I even made it home to Nashville in time to ride the bicycle last night.
