My Friend Senator Trusty Resigns

I really enjoyed serving with Senator Sharon Trusty this year. She is a lady, a concientious legislator and my friend. I am pasting a copy of an email I recieved today regarding her service.

Dear Colleagues,

Over the past several years, like many of you, I have faced many personal challenges while serving in the Arkansas State Senate. And like you, I have weathered them all, however, I find that the ‘opportunity costs’ are becoming greater each year as those of us who serve in the legislature are faced with more and more responsibilities than ever before. It is for this reason that I have decided to resign my position as state senator and vacate the seat effective 12 noon, September 1, 2009.

It is impossible for me to convey in an email what each of you means to me, both professionally and personally. Please know that you each hold a special place in my heart and I feel that our friendship(s) transcend beyond politics and for that I am grateful.

God bless you as you serve the people of this great state and if I can ever do anything for you as a private citizen, please let me know.
