Lieutenant Governor Bill Halter was the guest speaker at the Hope/Hempstead County Economic Development luncheon today. There was a really good crowd in the Purtle Room at UACCH. Lt. Governor Halter talked about education, scholarships and the lottery. He did a good job and seemed to be well received. He worked the crowd, shaking most of the hands there. I like to see elected officials who seem to enjoy visiting with their constituents. I had to slip out a little early to get back to Nashville for an appointment with a customer.
We have to find a way to bring more jobs into southwest/west Arkansas and we need to be sure that we keep the jobs that we have. I am a member/investor in the Hempstead County Economic Development group and I appreciate the good work that Wesley, Melissa and the board do.
