Storm Damage

The storms of Thursday evening left their mark in West/Southwest Arkansas. I spent a good portion of the day Friday looking at damage. The Governor was in Mena touring the damage and Representative Abernathy and I accompanied him as he made the rounds.

I have never before seen the devastation that Mena suffered - my heart and my prayers go out to everyone who was touched by the tornadoes. In the midst of the tragedy there is opportunity for each of us to serve those in need. The below photo is of ladies from Union Bank in Mena who were cooking and serving food to the volunteers and anyone else that needed it.

These disasters are the times when Government should be at it's best -providing the information, services and funding needed to help our people through these difficult times. Please keep those who have suffered a loss in your prayers.
