Polk/Montgomery Farm Bureau and Teachers

My friends at the Polk County and Montgomery County Farm Bureau gathered this morning in Mena at the Limetree for a legislative briefing and question and answer session. We ate breakfast and then visited for about an hour. My colleague Representative Bill Abernathy was there with me. I left Nashville at about 6:30 this morning in order to get there by 8:00. I always enjoy those sessions. The board members are pretty knowledgeable about the issues and there is always a good discussion.

At 9:30 my Farm Bureau friends left and representatives from the AEA (teachers) came to the Limetree and Bill and I visited with them for about an hour. Representative Abernathy is the House Education Committee Chairman and brings more knowledge on that subject to the table than I do. It was a good meeting.

After the meetings I drove straight back to Nashville and worked in a bicycle ride before coming down to the office to catch up on some work. It has been a good day.
