Howard Memorial Hospital Foundation GALA

The Howard Memorial Hospital Foundation hosted its annual GALA last night (4th?). Mother, Debbie and I have been to all of them. It is a very fancy evening with the old Coca Cola Bottling plant transformed into a swanky dinner club for a night. There is a band, dancing, refreshments, silent and live auctions, valet parking and door prizes. Thankfully there are not a lot of opportunities to put on the tux here in Nashville but everyone seems to enjoy dressing in their finest. You know how much I enjoy visiting with people so I always have a good time making the rounds and speaking to everyone.
The food is always good but it seemed to me this years was the best. The chefs from Tyson Foods cooked the meal. There was something for everyone - pork and beef tenderloin and ham, boiled and blackened shrimp, salads, fruit, a pasta line - plenty of food for everyone. Mother and Deb has Bananas Foster for dessert and claimed that it was extraordinarily good.
The Foundation does good work supporting the Hospital and was able to purchase the land upon which the new hospital is being constructed. In today's economic times most rural health care providers need all the help they can get to survive. I appreciate those who serve on the Foundation and who support it.
