Yesterday was a productive day for both ends of the Capitol. In the Senate SB88 "To reduce the State Sales and Use Tax Rate on Food and Food Ingredients" passed out of the Revenue and Tax Committee and the House passed HB1204 "To Increase the Tax on Cigarettes and Certain Tobacco Products and....." out of the Rules committee. We may see a vote on it in the House today. It is the Governor's Tobacco Tax bill.
The Winthrop P. Rockefeller Memorial Subcommittee and the Arkansas Senate unveiled the bronze sculpture of Lieutenant Winthrop P. Rockefeller. It is an extraordinarily good likeness. I was in the House part of the time he was Lieutenant Governor - I always found him to be a gentleman and I admired his commitment to public service.
