President Bill Clinton is in town and we had the opportunity to hear him address the combined House and Senate today. Before he addressed the combined bodies he stopped in the Senate for a few minutes. The above photo is from his short visit in the Senate.
President Clinton spoke to the House in January of 2001, right before he left the Presidency. I was serving as Representative at that time and had the opportunity to hear him then. As he was speaking I was reminded that while there are other great "political" communicators out there I don't know any of them that offer the sincerity and substance that President Clinton brings to the podium. I really liked one statement that he made today, "In over 200 years every single soul that has bet against America has been wrong." Better times are coming and I believe our economy will emerge at some point stronger than before.
