District Basketball and DU Banquet in Sevier County

My Saturday night was spent in DeQueen. The District basketball tournament was being held at the DeQueen Leopard High School Gymnasium (it is a great facility). The Nashville Scrapperettes were playing Waldron. Nashville won with a score of 46 to 38 (might have been 39). I watched a good bit of the game - at least the first of the game and the end of the game.

In the middle of the game I left and dropped in on the Ducks Unlimited Banquet being held at the Country Club. The crowd was not as big as I remember it from previous years and it seemed to be a very young crowd. I notice more events I attend seem to be a younger crowd - surely it is not me getting older. The meal was a smoked chicken half that was pretty good. I didn't stay long because I was anxious to get back to the basketball games.
After the Scrapperettes won the DeQueen boys were playing Oak Grove. I don't know the final score but Oak Grove won. The DeQueen boys had won a hard game the evening before and may have been a little off of their game. Congratulations to all the teams.
