My Saturday night was spent in DeQueen. The District basketball tournament was being held at the DeQueen Leopard High School Gymnasium (it is a great facility). The Nashville Scrapperettes were playing Waldron. Nashville won with a score of 46 to 38 (might have been 39). I watched a good bit of the game - at least the first of the game and the end of the game.In the middle of the game I left and dropped in on the Ducks Unlimited Banquet being held at the Country Club. The crowd was not as big as I remember it from previous years and it seemed to be a very young crowd. I notice more events I attend seem to be a younger crowd - surely it is not me getting older. The meal was a smoked chicken half that was pretty good. I didn't stay long because I was anxious to get back to the basketball games.
After the Scrapperettes won the DeQueen boys were playing Oak Grove. I don't know the final score but Oak Grove won. The DeQueen boys had won a hard game the evening before and may have been a little off of their game. Congratulations to all the teams.
