I had opportunity to be in the Capitol last night at about 9 p.m. I had been to supper and needed to unload some supplies that I had brought from Nashville for my office. I love the old building, I enjoy it when the session is in full swing and there are people everywhere. But last night in the quiet with just a cleaning crew and my State Capitol Police friends inside I was struck again by how beautiful she is. I spent some time after finishing my project just walking around enjoying the quiet and the beauty.
If you have not been to our Capitol - I promise it is worth a trip. Tomorrow Representative Stewart and I have a group of students from the Delight School District coming to visit the Capitol along with their social studies teacher Mrs. Monica Teel and Superintendent Lavon Flaherty.
Secretary of State Charlie Daniels is charged with the responsiblity of caring for the Capitol and grounds. He has some info on the Capitol on his website CLICK HERE to view it.
