Yesterday Richard Weiss, Director of the Department of Finance & Administration, presented the Governor's Budget at the Budget Hearings. I was there to listen and learn.
Among other things, there was no new money for teachers, Medicaid and prisons and he contemplates taking another penny of the state sales tax on groceries off. He wants a rainy day fund from which he can fund needs if there is no revenue growth. It is sure going to be an interesting session. Thank you for allowing me to serve.
I have not yet had time to dig into the budget for specifics but I will be working on understanding it over the weekend.
